One trend line, ten layers of confluence, and a signal only when they agree.
FXB Confluence Engine follows the trend with a range filter. Each time that trend turns on a closed bar, it scores how much else agrees: momentum, the EMAs, four other timeframes, a higher-timeframe bias, volatility, RSI and volume, with points taken off for a choppy market. A BUY or SELL prints only when the score reaches your minimum and every filter is open, and the dashboard shows you every point of it. One purchase includes both the .ex4 and the .ex5.
- Decided on closed bars. Once a signal prints it does not move or disappear.
- Selective by design: 5 to 14 signals per 1,000 bars at the defaults on 20 MetaTrader 5 charts we measured.
- MetaTrader 4 and 5 builds and a PDF manual for each, one-time $47.
Schematic of the rule at the default inputs: each layer's maximum points, the score a signal needs, and the filters it must pass. The real charts are further down the page.
Measured on these markets
Runs on
An arrow tells you what. It almost never tells you how much agrees.
Most buy and sell indicators react to one thing: a crossover, a band touch, a turn in a single line. They fire the same way in a clean trend and in a sideways chop, so the chart fills with arrows and you are left to work out which ones had anything behind them. And some of them draw the arrow while the bar is still forming, then quietly move it.
FXB Confluence Engine turns that around. The trend line decides when to look; the score decides whether it is worth printing. Every turn is weighed across ten layers on the closed bar, choppy conditions cost points, and a signal appears only above your minimum with the EMA, chop, RSI and volume filters open. The dashboard shows every layer, so a missing signal is as explainable as a printed one.
Read the charts, not the promise. Every chart on this page is a real MetaTrader capture of the shipped build at its default settings, and every number in the frequency table was counted from those charts. Nothing is drawn in by hand. Click any chart to open it full size.
Signals per 1,000 bars, counted on 20 MetaTrader 5 charts
Signals on the last 1,000 closed bars of each chart at the default settings, and with one filter switched off: Only show signals when EMA aligned. It tells you how busy a chart will be, not how many signals win.

What this table admits: across all 20 MetaTrader 5 charts the defaults gave 5 to 14 signals per 1,000 bars, roughly one every 71 to 200 bars. Switching off the EMA alignment filter alone gave 9 to 24; on these charts it removed between 32 and 65 percent of the turns that passed everything else. That is the point of the defaults: fewer signals, each with the trend, the EMAs and the score behind it. A count says nothing about how many signals worked; the charts below show signals that ran and signals that the trend turned against.

Each one was saved by MetaTrader itself from a chart of the shipped build, with the indicator attached exactly as you would attach it: the filter line and band, coloured candles, EMAs, pivots, signals, the dashboard and the bottom strip. Click any chart to open it full size.

How these charts were captured. So you can repeat them, not just look at them.
- MetaTrader 5 build 6230 and MetaTrader 4 build 1479 on the Blueberry Markets Pty Ltd demo server (BlueberryMarkets-Demo), 7 October 2026. The terminals ran unattended: a helper script opened each chart, attached the shipped indicator with its default inputs, waited for it to finish drawing and saved the chart with MetaTrader's own screenshot function. No chart was edited afterwards.
- The MetaTrader 5 charts show the history stored in that terminal, which runs to 1 Oct 2026 (each chart's last bar is in its caption); the MetaTrader 4 charts were live up to 7 Oct 2026.
- The dashboard values, the last signal and the signal counts on this page were read from each chart's own dashboard and signals at the moment of capture and stored next to the screenshot, so every figure traces to a file. Times are the broker's server time. Forex symbols on this feed carry a .i suffix.
- Every value the engine computes was compared with the original design's own output, bar by bar, on both builds: 6,922,033 values per platform, no differences. The dashboard text and pivot labels were compared the same way.
A trend, a score and a set of filters
Three parts, each one visible on the chart or the dashboard, which is what makes a signal easy to check.
The trend
A range filter follows price but only moves when price travels further than a range sized from the ATR. Its direction is the trend, drawn as a line with a four-layer band and coloured candles. Sensitivity (6 by default) sets how wide the range is.
The score
When the trend turns on a closed bar, ten layers score the turn: EMA and momentum, M5 to H4 agreement, the filter at two wider settings, the M30 bias, volatility, RSI and volume, minus up to two points for chop. At the defaults the maximum is 16.
The filters
The turn becomes a BUY or SELL only with a score of 8 or more, full EMA alignment, a trending market (ADX and Choppiness Index), the cooldown clear, RSI on the right side and volume above average. All of it is checked on the closed bar.
Install the file for your platform
Copy the .ex4 into MQL4/Indicators or the .ex5 into MQL5/Indicators, refresh the Navigator and drag FXB Confluence Engine onto any chart.
Start with the defaults
Watch a few signals form before you change anything. The manual has starting points for more signals, a calmer trend or the strongest signals only.
Read the dashboard
The trend, the score and its breakdown, which filters are open, the market data, the session and the state of the last signal.
Let the alerts call you
Signals and Trade Invalidated are on by default; 10 families in all, by popup, sound, push to the MetaTrader app or e-mail, on closed bars only.
Every point of the score, on the chart
A signal you can explain is a signal you can judge. The panel shows each layer, each filter and the state of the last signal; the strip shows five timeframes and five sensitivities at once.

| Section | What it shows |
|---|---|
| TREND / HTF | The trend on this chart and the bias of the higher timeframe (M30 by default) |
| SIGNAL QUALITY | The score as n/16 with its band: HIGH at 80 percent, MED at 57, LOW at 43, WEAK below |
| SCORE BREAKDOWN | Every layer with its points, or off when you switch it off, and the chop penalty |
| CONFIRMATIONS | Every filter: EMA aligned, RSI, volume, VWAP, chop gate OPEN or BLOCKED, ADX, Choppiness Index, cooldown |
| MARKET DATA | Both EMAs with slope, the nearest pivot support and resistance, VWAP, and today's range against its average |
| SESSION | London, New York, both, Asian or off-hours in their own time zones, and volatility as a percentile |
| LAST SIGNAL | Direction, bars ago and the score it carried |
| TRADE STATUS | ALIGNED while the trend still supports the last signal, REVERSED once it has turned against it |
The strip's M1 cell and the sensitivity 3 and 5 cells are marked with an asterisk: they are shown for context and do not enter the score. If a trend turned without a signal, CONFIRMATIONS shows which filter held it.
The same engine, drawn two ways
Both builds run the same engine on the same inputs and produce the same signals, scores and dashboard values; we checked that value by value. What differs is how each platform draws. You should know that before you choose, so here is Gold H1 on both. The two charts show different dates: the MetaTrader 5 history on this computer ends on 29 Sep 2026, the MetaTrader 4 chart ran live to 7 Oct 2026.

Three things a signal indicator should do, done properly
Signals you can explain
Every signal carries its score, and the dashboard breaks it into layers. You can see why one turn printed and why the next one did not, which is what lets you judge a signal instead of trusting it.
History you can trust
Signals are decided on closed bars, so the ones you scroll back through are the ones you would have seen live. Only the line, band, candle colour and dashboard follow the bar that is still forming.
Both platforms, one purchase
The .ex4 and the .ex5 come in the same download with a manual for each, so moving between MetaTrader 4 and 5 costs nothing.
FXB Confluence Engine next to the usual options
Where it wins, and where it does not. A tool that claims to win everywhere is the one to distrust.
| FXB Confluence Engine | Typical free arrow indicators | A plain moving-average cross | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Signal stays where it printed | Decided on the closed bar | Many move or vanish before the bar closes | On the closed bar, if you wait for it |
| Shows why a signal fired | A score out of 16, layer by layer | The arrow only | One condition |
| Stays quiet in choppy markets | ADX, Choppiness Index and a cooldown | Usually not | Crosses back and forth |
| Checks other timeframes | M5 to H4 plus a higher-timeframe bias | Varies | No |
| Stop and targets drawn for you | No. You plan the exit; the manual shows how | Varies | No |
| Lots of signals | No. 5 to 14 per 1,000 bars at the defaults | Often many | Many |
Honest about who this fits
A good fit if you
- Want fewer signals with more behind each one, and to see exactly what that is.
- Trade forex, gold, silver, indices, oil or crypto on MetaTrader 4 or 5, on anything from M5 to H4.
- Like a dashboard that tells you the trend, the higher timeframe, the session and the levels at a glance.
Not for you if you
- Want an Expert Advisor that places trades for you. This is an indicator: it scores, draws and alerts, and you place the orders.
- Want a stop and targets drawn on every signal, or a signal every few bars.
- Expect a win rate printed on the box. This page shows what the indicator does, not a promise of profit.
64 inputs, each one explained
The names are the ones you see in the MetaTrader inputs dialog. The defaults are what every chart on this page uses.
| Input | Default | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Pivot Levels | ||
| Show Pivot Levels | On | Draws the pivot point and the R1 to R4 and S1 to S4 levels of the previous period, with lines that recolour once price breaks them. Off also blanks the nearest support and resistance rows on the dashboard. |
| Pivot Timeframe | D1 | The completed period the levels are calculated from: the previous day, week or month. |
| Pivot Formula | Classic | The pivot formula: Classic, Fibonacci or Camarilla. |
| Show Pivot Labels | On | Prints each level's name and price next to its line, in the symbol's own number of decimals. |
| Extend Lines Left (bars) | 100 | How many bars before the start of the current period the pivot lines begin. |
| Core | ||
| Sensitivity | 6 | Width of the range filter, the line the trend follows. Higher values widen it, so the trend flips less often and signals are rarer; lower values flip sooner. The width scales with Sensitivity / 8. |
| ATR Length | 14 | ATR period behind the range filter width and the trailing band. |
| ATR Multiplier | 0.8 | Scales the range filter width and the four-layer trailing band. |
| Higher Timeframe | ||
| HTF Timeframe | M30 | The higher timeframe whose trend feeds the HTF Bias layer (one point) and the TREND / HTF row. |
| HTF MA Length | 90 | Has no effect in this version. Kept so saved settings keep loading. |
| EMA Overlay | ||
| Show EMA Lines | On | Draws the fast and slow EMAs. |
| Fast EMA | 60 | Fast EMA period. Used by the EMA + Momentum layer, the EMA alignment filter and the EMA distance filter. |
| Slow EMA | 200 | Slow EMA period. The fast EMA above it counts as bullish alignment, below it as bearish. |
| Anti-Chop Filters | ||
| Enable ADX Filter | On | Blocks signals while ADX is below the threshold, and takes one point off the score. |
| ADX Length | 14 | ADX period. |
| ADX Threshold | 20.0 | Minimum ADX for a trending market. 20 is moderate, 25 strict. |
| Enable Choppiness Index Filter | On | Blocks signals while the Choppiness Index is above the maximum, and takes one point off the score. |
| Choppiness Length | 14 | Choppiness Index period. |
| Choppiness Max | 61.8 | Highest Choppiness Index that still counts as trending. 61.8 is the usual level; lower is stricter. |
| Enable Signal Cooldown | On | After a signal, blocks the next one until Cooldown Bars have closed. |
| Cooldown Bars | 5 | Minimum closed bars between two signals. |
| Signal Confirmation | ||
| Enable RSI Confirmation | On | A BUY needs RSI at or above RSI Min for Longs, a SELL RSI at or below RSI Max for Shorts. Adds one point when RSI agrees with the trend. |
| RSI Length | 14 | RSI period. |
| RSI Min for Longs | 50.0 | Lowest RSI that still allows a BUY. |
| RSI Max for Shorts | 50.0 | Highest RSI that still allows a SELL. |
| RSI Overbought Level | 70.0 | Overbought level for the RSI alert and the dashboard. It does not block signals. |
| RSI Oversold Level | 30.0 | Oversold level for the RSI alert and the dashboard. It does not block signals. |
| Enable Volume Confirmation | On | A signal needs the bar's volume at or above its average times the multiplier. Adds one point. MetaTrader forex volume is tick volume. |
| Volume MA Length | 20 | Length of the volume average. |
| Volume Threshold Multiplier | 1.0 | How far above its average volume must be. 1.0 means at least average. |
| Enable VWAP Confirmation | Off | A BUY needs price above the daily VWAP, a SELL below it. Adds one point to the score and one to the maximum. |
| Enable Candle Pattern Confirmation | Off | A signal needs an engulfing or strong-body candle in its direction. Adds one point to the score and one to the maximum. |
| Enable EMA Distance Filter | Off | Blocks signals when price is further from the fast EMA than the maximum distance, so late entries far from the mean are skipped. |
| Max EMA Distance (ATR mult) | 2.0 | The maximum distance from the fast EMA, in ATRs. |
| Minimum Signal Strength | 8 | Signals scoring below this are not shown. Out of 16 at the defaults. |
| Display | ||
| Show LONG/SHORT Labels | Off | Prints a label with the score, for example BUY 11/16, under or over each signal. |
| Show Signal Arrows | On | Draws the diamond and the BUY or SELL text on each signal bar. |
| Show Range Filter Line | On | Draws the range filter line. |
| Show Trailing Band | On | Draws the four shaded layers either side of the filter line, coloured by the trend. |
| Show Background Tint | Off | Tints the chart background green or red by the trend. |
| Only show signals when EMA aligned | On | A signal needs full EMA alignment: for a BUY the fast EMA above the slow one, price above the fast EMA and the fast EMA rising, the mirror image for a SELL. This filters the signal itself, not only the display. |
| Dashboard | ||
| Show Dashboard | On | Shows the main dashboard panel. |
| Dashboard Position | Right | Puts the dashboard in the top left or the top right corner. |
| Dashboard Text Size | Small | Dashboard text size: Tiny, Small or Normal. |
| Show Bottom Strip (MTF + Sensitivity) | On | Shows the strip along the bottom: the trend on five timeframes and the filter at five sensitivities. |
| Theme | ||
| Chart Background | Dark | Dark or Light colour palette for the indicator. It changes no calculated value. |
| MetaTrader | ||
| Paint Bars | On | Colours the candles by the trend: teal up, red down. |
| Bars to calculate (0 = all) | 5000 | How many recent bars are calculated. 0 means the whole history. Earlier bars are left empty, which keeps loading fast. |
| Server time zone (session row) | Auto | Used only for the session row. Auto reads your broker's clock; pick a fixed offset only if your broker's server time is unusual. |
| Alerts | ||
| Enable alerts | On | Master switch for every alert below. Alerts fire on closed bars only, never for history and never in the Strategy Tester. |
| Alert: BUY and SELL signals | On | A BUY or SELL signal, with price, score, HTF bias, RSI and volume in the message. |
| Alert: Strong signals (score 80%+) | Off | A signal whose score is at least 80 percent of the maximum. |
| Alert: EMA-confirmed signals | Off | A signal on a bar with full EMA alignment. |
| Alert: Trend change | Off | The confirmed trend turning bullish or bearish. |
| Alert: Chop gate opened / closed | Off | The anti-chop gate opening (signals allowed again) or closing (signals blocked). |
| Alert: HTF bias change | Off | The higher-timeframe bias turning bullish or bearish. |
| Alert: RSI enters overbought / oversold | Off | RSI entering the overbought or oversold zone (once on entry, not on every bar inside it). |
| Alert: Volume spike | Off | Volume at twice its average. |
| Alert: Score crosses the minimum | Off | The score crossing your Minimum Signal Strength, up or down. |
| Alert: Trade invalidated | On | The trend reversing against the last signal: the moment a position from that signal needs a decision. |
| Channel: popup window | On | MetaTrader's alert window. It plays its own sound. |
| Channel: sound | On | Plays alert.wav, only when the popup is off (the popup already plays one). |
| Channel: push notification | Off | Push notification to the MetaTrader app on your phone (set up under Tools, Options, Notifications). |
| Channel: e-mail | Off | E-mail through the terminal's own mail settings (Tools, Options, Email). |
Ten families, four ways to hear about them
Every alert is evaluated on a closed bar, fires once for that bar, and never fires for the history the indicator calculates when it loads. Signal alerts carry the whole context in one line; the others name the event, the symbol and the timeframe. As they arrive:
- FXB-CE LONG | EURUSD | H1 | Price: 1.16377 | Score: 12/16 (MED) | HTF: BULL | RSI: 52.2 | Vol: Above Avg
- FXB-CE TRADE INVALIDATED | EURUSD | H1 | Close LONG - trend reversed to BEARISH | Price: 1.16102
- FXB-CE TREND CHANGE | EURUSD | BEARISH | H1
Each family can reach you as a MetaTrader popup, a sound, a push notification to the MetaTrader app on your phone or an e-mail, with one switch per channel. Signals and Trade Invalidated are on by default: one tells you a setup has printed, the other that the trend has turned against it.

- EMA-confirmed signals off by default
- Trend change off by default
- Chop gate opened / closed off by default
- HTF bias change off by default
- RSI enters overbought / oversold off by default

I have traded forex since 2014 and started writing about it the same year. forexobroker.com now reaches over 40,000 readers a month, and every indicator, Expert Advisor and tutorial on it is something I have built, tested or used in my own trading.
FXB Confluence Engine is the tool I use when I want a signal to earn its place: one trend I can see, a score that tells me how much agrees with it, and nothing that changes after the bar closes. The charts on this page were captured from the shipped build at its default settings and are shown unedited.

Answered straight
The things people actually e-mail about before buying. If yours is not here, ask before you buy at [email protected].
How it works
Does it repaint?
No. Every signal, the score it is judged on, every filter and every alert are evaluated on a closed bar, so a signal that has printed stays where it is. It appears once its bar is complete, which in practice is when the next bar opens. What does move is the filter line, the band, the candle colour and the dashboard on the bar that is still forming, because they follow the live price until that bar closes.
What exactly triggers a BUY or a SELL?
A BUY needs the range filter to turn up on a closed bar, and at the defaults a score of 8 or more, full EMA alignment (fast EMA above the slow one, price above the fast EMA and the fast EMA rising, the mirror image for a SELL), ADX at or above 20.0, a Choppiness Index at or below 61.8, at least 5 bars since the last signal, RSI at or above 50.0 for a BUY (at or below 50.0 for a SELL) and volume at or above its average. A SELL is the mirror image. If the trend turns while any of these is not met, no signal prints for that turn, and the dashboard shows which filter held it.
How is the score calculated?
Ten layers add points: EMA and momentum (up to 4), agreement on M5, M15, H1 and H4 (up to 4), the same filter at sensitivity 12 and 16 (up to 3), the higher-timeframe bias (1), volatility not stretched (up to 2), RSI (1) and volume (1). VWAP and candle patterns add one each when you switch them on. A failing ADX and a failing Choppiness Index take one point off each. At the defaults the maximum is 16.
Why do I see so few signals?
That is the design. On the 20 MetaTrader 5 charts we measured, the defaults gave 5 to 14 signals per 1,000 bars; switching off the EMA alignment filter alone gave 9 to 24. Lower the Minimum Signal Strength or switch off a filter for more, and read the score on each one.
Does it draw a stop loss and targets?
No, and that is the row it loses in our comparison. It tells you when a turn has enough confluence behind it; you set the exit. The manual has a workflow: a stop beyond the filter line, the band or the signal bar, the nearest pivot level as a first target, and the Trade Invalidated alert when the trend turns against the signal.
What does the bottom strip show?
The trend on M1, M5, M15, H1 and H4, and the filter on your chart at sensitivity 3, 5, your setting, 12 and 16, with the multi-timeframe and sensitivity scores between them. The cells marked with an asterisk are shown for context and do not enter the score.
The proof
Are the charts on this page real?
Yes. Each one was saved by MetaTrader itself on the Blueberry Markets Pty Ltd demo server on 7 October 2026, with the shipped indicator attached at its default inputs, and none was edited. The MetaTrader 5 charts show the history stored in that terminal, up to 1 Oct 2026; the MetaTrader 4 charts were live. The dashboard values and signal counts printed next to them were read from the same charts at the same moment.
What is the win rate?
This page does not print one, on purpose. A win rate depends on the market, the timeframe, the period and above all on your exit, which the indicator leaves to you, so any single number would flatter some charts and hide others. The frequency table tells you how often it fires and the charts show signals the trend carried and signals it turned against. Test it on a demo account on your own markets before you trade it.
How do I know the MetaTrader version calculates what it should?
Every value the engine computes was compared with the original design's own output, bar by bar, on both builds: 6,922,033 values per platform, with no differences, and the dashboard text and pivot labels were compared the same way. On the charts on this page, the signal count each chart drew was also recomputed independently and matched on all 20 MetaTrader 5 charts.
Does it work on gold, indices and crypto?
Yes. It reads price and volume only, so it runs on any symbol your broker quotes. We captured it on 17 markets across forex, gold, silver, stock indices, oil and crypto, from M15 to H4. On most MetaTrader symbols the volume is tick volume, which is what the volume layer uses.
Using it
MetaTrader 4 or 5: which should I use?
Whichever your broker offers; the signals, scores and dashboard values are the same. MetaTrader 5 draws filled bands and colour candles natively; MetaTrader 4 draws them with histogram bars and shows plain characters for the dashboard arrows and ticks. Both builds are in the download.
Which timeframes work best?
M5 to H4 is where it is most at home, and every chart on this page was taken between M15 and H4. The multi-timeframe slots are fixed at M1 to H4, so on an H4 or daily chart they look at lower timeframes; the HTF Timeframe input (M30 by default) is the one that looks up.
Will it trade for me?
No. It is an indicator: it scores, draws the trend and the levels, shows the dashboard and raises the alerts. You place and manage the orders, with whatever position size and risk your account allows.
What is the Server time zone input for?
Only the session row of the dashboard. Auto reads your broker's clock, which works for almost every broker; pick a fixed offset if your broker's server time is unusual. It changes no signal.
After you buy
How do I get it after paying?
Checkout takes you straight to a private download page with one zip holding both builds and both manuals. Bookmark that page for re-downloads.
Do I get updates?
Yes. Free updates to the current version are posted on the same download page.
Do I get the source code?
No. The download holds the compiled .ex4 and .ex5 files and the two manuals.
What is the refund policy?
A 60-day money-back guarantee. If FXB Confluence Engine is not for you within 60 days of purchase, e-mail [email protected] for a full refund, no questions asked.
